DEFINITION
Electronic Waste, or E-waste, refers to electronic gadgets that are no longer wanted, malfunctioning, or approaching the end of their "useful life."
The ongoing challenge of figuring out the best way to get rid of used and unwanted electronics isn't a recent problem; it goes back to at least the 1970s. However, a lot has changed since then, especially in terms of the sheer quantity of electronics being tossed out today.
What's different now is that we have a term for this problem. After considering various suggestions, including "Digital rubbish," there was a consensus around the straightforward term "e-waste."
